HISTORY

Vasco Zu Den Stocken

Multiple V1 Winner for us in Germany (1984)

It all began in 1962 when we bought our first German Shepherd called Ambrosia of Eveley who we showed mainly at smaller shows but we managed to catch the bug off of her and in 1968 some 33 years ago we won our first major award by winning the reserve CC at Crufts with a female called Tramella`s Decorous of Charavigne. Four years later we made up our first UK Champion called Tramella`s Innsbrook Jonty who went on to take 6CC`s and 4Rcc`s and over the years we have had tremendous success with well over 20 dogs that have gained top awards in the UK alone.

In 1966 we took out the prefix Tramella which originated from a very famous three day eventer which we were very involved in at the time. We are very proud of the fact that Tramella is a prefix that has stood the test of time spanning over five decades which we feel is a major achievement considering the standards we have always set our selves and the average experience in the breed at the present day. In 1970 Gloria judged her first show and has judged continuously both at Open and Championship show level since then having awarded CC`s to such dogs as the UK`s breed record holder Amulree Heiko and as far away as Barbados where she awarded the CC to Ghandi vom Arminius.

In 1982 we joined the SV and in just four years in 1986 Gloria became one of the few women in the world to successfully take and pass the SV judges exam. This really was the beginning of a new era for us at Tramella because in 1982 we saw the opportunity and began to import some German stock for the first time. With the prospect of us importing German dogs into England and the UK laws regarding Rabies at the time, we decided to build and open our very own Quarantine Kennels which we did one year later.

In 1983 we imported our first female called Jenny vom West-Germanien who gained 3Rcc`s in the UK but in Germany she won the breeders trophy for us over all other bitches. Next in 1984 we imported our first male called Vasco Zu Den Stocken who was a son of the VA8 male Flory vom Eckkopf and as well as being a multiple V1 winner for us in Germany, he also proved himself as a important sire in the UK. Over the next couple of years we imported such females as Illja vom West-Germanien, Andra vom Nassauer Berg and Linda vom Noricum all of which were multiple winners in Germany. It was with Linda vom Noricum in 1984 that we became the first people in the UK to use a certain dog called Uran vom Wildsteigerland who went on to take his first Seiger title later that same year and become one of the most prolific sires ever. From this litter we produced a male called Tramella`s Larry who was a consistent winner in his puppy classes but due to our emigration to Australia in 1986 unfortunately he never had the opportunity to for fill his early promise

In 1989 we returned from Australia and we soon got back into old habits and by 1991 we owned questionably one of the best males in the UK never to make his title called Greenstan Canto, but he did receive a Rcc and his Junior Warrant. 1991 also saw the arrival of Tramella`s Bernie who had many wins to his name and produced many winners, most recently on 9/2/2001 his son Norwulf Kimbo won his first CC at Manchester Championship show, proving even at the tender age of ten, Tramella`s Bernie can still produce to the highest standard.

More recently in 1996 we imported the very influential male Yago vom Steigerhof who's sire was the youth seiger Vitus vom Haus- Farrenkopf and dam was Malta vom Steigerhof who made V1 at the German Seiger show. Yago certainly made his mark as a sire in the UK producing a considerable amount of winners all with the distinct Yago type and always with his exceptional character. This brings us up to the present day and we at Tramella think that at the moment we have as good a dogs as we have had in a long time. Presently we have some outstanding females but the pride of our kennels has to go to the 1997 Youth Seiger SG3 Jascho vom Feimereck and the 1998 Youth Seiger SG11 Max vom Schuttingerweg both of which we are sure will make their mark in the show ring for themselves as well as with their progeny.

Finally, we at Tramella think you will agree that this is a kennel full of history and experience with our 40th anniversary coming up very soon and it being 28 years since we made up our first Champion, but still with the burning desire and 100% commitment for the future that has made Tramella the success it is today.

THE FUTURES BRIGHT, THE FUTURES
